Alkaline Tattoo Removal

Alkaline removal is a technique used to gradually draw permanent makeup pigment out of the skin. An alkaline solution is gently implanted into the treated area, where it reacts with the ink and helps bring it closer to the surface, allowing it to fade and be removed over time. The process is similar in feel to permanent makeup application.

In some cases, more than one session may be needed to achieve visible results. We will evaluate your progress once the skin has fully healed and determine the next steps together. Results depend on several factors, including proper aftercare, the age of the pigment, and how deeply the permanent makeup was placed.

Proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing and results. Please follow these guidelines carefully:

  • Keep the treated area completely dry until the crust naturally peels off
  • Do not rub, scratch, or pick at the treated area
  • Avoid swimming, bathing, sun exposure, and saunas for 14 days following the treatment

Healing varies from person to person. Following these instructions will help minimize irritation and support proper pigment removal.

The procedure takes approximately one hour. We begin with a brief consultation to review your goals and discuss expectations, followed by my professional recommendations and guidance on any potential follow-up sessions.

Your comfort is a top priority. A numbing cream is applied before the procedure and allowed to take effect for 15–20 minutes.

The removal process is similar to permanent makeup application, but instead of pigment, a skin-safe removal solution is used. This solution binds to the existing pigment and helps draw it toward the surface during healing. Final results can be evaluated once the skin has fully healed, typically about one month after the procedure.
